Transitional Living Program for Single Mothers & Children
Bridgeway is a 13 bed residential transitional living program for homeless women with children located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Bridgeway can serve 4-6 families at any given time.
Lasting change does not happen overnight. Bridgeway is designed to work with extremely at risk families living in instability. This means that time and resources are needed to create lasting change. We assist mothers and their families to find stability before, during, and after their stay with us. Our program is unique in that we require case management and other programming as a condition of residency.
Bridgeway’s residential program serves single women with children who are homeless or living in unsafe or unstable environments. Each mother who enters our program went through an application process where she demonstrated a desire to change and willingness to participate in intensive programming, goal setting and counseling in order to build the skills necessary for creating change. Mothers and their children can stay at Bridgeway for up to two years. The entire time they are in the program, they are actively making progress and held accountable for their family goals. The extended length of stay at Bridgeway allows the stability needed for mothers to focus on healing and learning the skills necessary to provide the ongoing stability that will allow them to break the cycle of chaos and poverty for their children.
